NOVONIX is onshoring the graphite supply chain in North America.

Our Facilities

NOVONIX’s Riverside facility, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is poised to become the first large-scale production site dedicated to high-performance synthetic graphite for the battery sector in North America, with plans to grow output to 20,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) to meet current customer commitments with Panasonic, Stellantis, and PowerCo. NOVONIX is the most advanced producer of battery-grade synthetic graphite in the region and one of the only companies commercializing a domestic alternative.

To meet increasing customer demand, the Company previously announced the execution of a definitive agreement to purchase a 182-acre parcel in the Enterprise South Industrial Park in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the future location of its second high-performance, synthetic graphite manufacturing plant. With this initial capacity at Enterprise South and its existing Riverside facility, NOVONIX will have total production capacity of over 50,000 tpa in Chattanooga.

Our Materials:

NOVONIX has developed proprietary process technology that includes unique continuous graphitization systems and anode materials that outperform industry standards. NOVONIX synthetic graphite offers significant consumer and end-user advantages including:

We are committed to keeping sustainability at the core of our business as we continue to scale our operations. NOVONIX’s synthetic graphite has demonstrably lower global warming potential (GWP) than the largest producers today through our energy-efficient graphitization process and cleaner power grid.

NOVONIX's proprietary graphitization process is leading the clean energy transformation.

Life Cycle Assessment

NOVONIX Anode Materials strives for the highest performance while powering the industry through lower carbon emissions.
As a part of this commitment, NOVONIX commissioned Minviro Ltd., a globally recognized sustainability firm, to conduct a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) on NOVONIX’s GX-23 grade of synthetic graphite.

The Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) conducted by Minviro Ltd. demonstrated a ~60% decrease in global warming potential (GWP) relative to conventional anode grade synthetic graphite produced in Inner Mongolia, China and ~30% decrease in GWP when compared to the anode grade natural graphite in Heilongjiang Province, China.

Global Warming Potential

NOVONIX Synthetic Anode Material is leading the industry in environmentally sustainable manufacturing practices.
