Thermal Chambers

Stable and accurate temperature control

NOVONIX® UHPC systems use specifically designed channel modules that address a wide range of current measurement, providing the reliable, high precision, and rapid data analysis that our customers value. When used with a properly controlled temperature chamber, these systems can measure cycle metrics such as Coulombic Efficiency with better precision and accuracy than any other system on the market.

All NOVONIX Channel Modules come with a Conformité Européenne (CE)mark, certified to IEC 62368-1:2018 for safety and emissions. Where required, products can be UL/CSA marked.

*Wide Range Chamber. NOVONIX only recommends these chambers for applications that will truly demand cold temperatures.
For regular applications, use Peltier-style chambers, which are more efficient and responsive due to their solid-state coolers.

Cell Fixtures

Built for high-precision testing

NOVONIX provides fully integrated systems that include cell fixtures. We manufacture cell fixtures configured for pouch cells, coin cells, cylindrical cells, and custom designs for high-precision testing.

NOVONIX makes both cell holders (designed for UHPC chambers) as well as connector cables (designed to be used with 3rd party chambers).

Standard format cell holders

These cell holders are designed to be used with NOVONIX 2A Channel Modules. They carry a circuit board with an integrated RTD temperature sensor and a header to optionally connect an external RTD for cell surface measurements*. They can accommodate Coin, Standard Cylindrical (18650,26650,21700,4680), and Pouch cells.

Standard format cell holders have maximum current ratings of 10A.

Coin Cell

Fully isolated V+/- and I+/- leads. Can accommodate standard coin cell sizes.

Cylindrical Cell

Cylindrical Cell: Fully isolated V+/- and I+/- leads. Can accommodate standard cylindrical sizes (18650, 21700) and is adaptable for other cell sizes (26650, 4680).

Alligator Pouch Cell

Fully isolated V+/- and I+/- leads. Configurable lead lengths can accommodate different cell tab layouts.

Clip Pouch Cell

Fully isolated V+/- and I+/- leads. Fixed clip position can accommodate various pouch cell sizes.

These cell holders are designed to be used on NOVONIX 10A or 20A Channel Modules. While they have no integrated RTD to temperature sensing, they provide a flying lead for an external RTD to optionally be used*.

Large format cell holders have a maximum current rating of 30A.

NOVONIX can build custom-designed cell holders to accommodate specific test environments, from wire lead-length to different cell-fastening configurations.

All NOVONIX cell holders provide an optional 4-wire header to connect an RTD assembly. Once connected, the RTD temperature reading is logged alongside cycling data in UHPC systems.

All NOVONIX UHPC Channel Modules are calibrated to provide accurate temperature readings from these RTD assemblies.
